In the beginning of July we put a post up asking children to participate In a contest. The contest was open to two age groups. The children were asked to to illustrate one or more of this year's eaglets and to write a little something about why the Bald Eagles of Centerport are so special to them. The first place winners would win some one on one time with Cathy Stpierre of WINORR and some of their rescued critters. Both Gabriel and his younger sister Isabel won first place and today they received a 2 hour meet and greet with Cathy Stpierre and 4 little critters.
We were able to learn the back story as to why and how WINORR rescued them and we also had some discussion regarding the various adaptations that animals have in order to survive in the wild. Here are some pictures and videos from our wonderful time together at Heron Park. Special thanks to Cathy Stpierre for taking the time to bring her little critters, answer questions and for sharing her wealth of knowledge with us today at Heron Park.
